Fundraising & Grant Researcher (Volunteer)

We are seeking a Fundraising & Grant Proposal Researcher (Volunteer) to assist us with growing our funding through grants from private foundations and Government entities by researching grant proposal opportunities and drafting compelling proposals.

We believe the right candidate for this position will be someone who has a passion for serving those in need and either has a desire to gain valuable work experience as a fundraiser for non-profits or wishes to volunteer their time and experience to meet the needs outlined below. We estimate that 5-10 hours per week will be required for this position.

Job Duties:

• Research prospective foundations and government grant opportunities.
• Create a strong fundraising message that appeals to potential donors.
• Identify requirements for submitting complete and effective grant proposals to foundations and government entities.
• Draft for review by leadership all grant proposals according to requirements from each foundation or government entity.
• Submit approved grant proposals to foundations or government agencies.
• Track and report to leadership on grant proposal submissions with expected deadlines.
• Evaluate the success of previous grant proposals and recommend steps to improve.
• Respond to emails in a timely manner.
• Perform other appropriate tasks or duties as requested.
