Administrative duties at Uni Care Hospice are not about "pushing paper." It is you providing primary support to dozens of hospice staff to ultimately contribute to the excellent care provided to Uni Care Hospice patients and their families! You too will have a connection to the families when making weekly "Tuck-In" calls to ensure patients and caregivers have all the necessary supplies and medications needed to get them through the weekend without disruption.

With your help checking off "To Do" list items in our office, you ensure staff have more time to spend with patients and family members in assessing, planning, and providing exceptional care. Your attention to detail and processes will streamline assignments and increase our ability to outreach to patients in every neighborhood in Imperial Valley county.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make "Tuck-In" calls -- phone caregivers to check on their inventory of supplies and medications for patients prior to the weekend. Calls made on Wednesdays or Thursdays.
  • Make "How are you?" calls -- phone caregivers and patients to find out how they are doing and how more we can support them.
  • Provide detailed call notes to hospice staff.
  • Prepare and mail bereavement letters.
  • Build information binders for patients and partner facilities, and emergency preparedness kits for patients and their families.
  • Organize office inventory and various documents, file paperwork, shred confidential documents, photocopy and scan documents as needed.
  • Help prepare for community and outreach events.

Scheduling Times:
Weekdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. We can be flexible with shifts.

Description

At Uni Care Hospice, our care focuses on all aspects of an individual’s life and well-being when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to curative treatment. While patients are supported by impactful comfort care, nature is gently allowed to take its course. We are also here to support caregivers and family members.

Depending upon the individual circumstances of our patients and families, Uni Care Hospice may provide any combination of the following care services to provide the best patient-centered care.

You don’t need to go through this alone. We are here for you with Nursing Care; Social Services; Physician Services; Spiritual Support and Counseling; Hospice Aides; Trained Volunteer Support; Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies; Respite Care; Inpatient Care; Bereavement Support.

As a Level Three Partner in the We Honor Veterans* program, it is an honor to provide care and services for our Veterans and their families. We care for Veterans by recognizing their service and the impact that their service may have at the end of life.

The Uni Care Hospice team realizes our Veteran patients may experience service-related diseases or illnesses that may affect them from both clinical and benefits perspectives. As a result, care is tailored to meet these needs.

Our Veteran patients are recognized with certificates of service and pinning ceremonies as well as being offered Veteran memorial services.
