The Telephone Reassurance Program is supported by Vital Voices and its volunteers in partnership with the Milwaukee County Division on Aging. Vital Voices is an advocacy organization for people in Milwaukee County. We are the voice of our consumers - advocating for quality services to improve lives and advance recovery.
The Telephone Reassurance Program is looking for volunteers to offer a friendly and familiar voice on the phone on a regular basis. Our services are offered at no charge to all seniors, 60 years or older who live alone, in Milwaukee County. Volunteers will be matched with individuals who request the service with the goal of eliminating some of the concerns facing homebound seniors who live alone, thereby reducing social isolation. Older adults are encouraged to sign-up for this volunteer opportunity.

Mission Statement

Description
Vital Voices for Mental Health is a non-profit, 501(c)3 advocacy organization initially created for individuals with mental health issues who use services provided by agencies within the Milwaukee County behavioral health system. The mission of Vital Voices is to advocate for excellence in mental health and substance use recovery services through the voice of the people being served. While Vital Voices primarily works with adults experiencing mental health issues our Telephone Reassurance Program focuses on working with older adults who are isolated and needing connection over the phone.
Vital Voices was established in 1995 as a unique organization. Our resources enable us to go directly to individuals who are in need of resources and support. Our staff helps connect individuals with referrals and offers mental health support to our older adults, while volunteers are that friendly daily check in.
In 2019, we started working with Telephone Reassurance Program and have grown our older adult services to address the needs of isolated seniors (60+) in Milwaukee County Wisconsin.
