ORGANIZATION: POUDRE RIVER FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

  • 23 people are interested

Our organization relies on our regular weekly sorting (sort through books) and transporting (transport books between our facilities around Old Town) volunteers to process donated books. These regular volunteers can have longer-term absences come up (related to health, vacation/holidays, family events, etc.), so we are looking for people who we can call upon to sub in for a few weeks/months in their absence.

Book Transporters move and deliver beer boxes filled with sorted books from Webster House in Old Town to our East Lincoln Sorting facility. A reliable vehicle and a strong back are required. Each box can weigh more than 25 lbs when full. A mid to large size vehicle that can hold 20-30 stacked boxes is ideal. Transporters also move boxes of culled books back to Webster for disposal and/or donation to other entities.

Book sorters perform a weekly shift processing book donations and sorting books into genres (training provided). Must be able to stand for 2 hours and lift small boxes of books.

Each of these opportunities require about 1-2 hour shifts each week (as needed) during the week between the hours of 9 and 3.
