Mentors Needed for Children's Theatre Art Program - Holiday 2023 & Spring 2024

Builders of the New World, now in its 28~29th year, brings together professionals across all industries to provide a safe creative haven of stability for NYC children residing in temporary housing facilities. Our program helps at-risk students express their voice, see beyond their current circumstances, and envision a positive future. And they need you to reach their full potential!
We are looking for mentors to join our 2023 Holiday session and/or our 2024 Spring program to support and mentor 7-14 year old children in a safe, creative environment.
- For mentor who ONLY wants to join in 2023 holiday program:
The program culminates in a Creative Class and Holiday Celebration on Dec. 13, 3:30-8:30PM where involved program members mentor the children. All the potential mentors will attend 2 mandatory training sessions with our creative director and founder Thurman E. Scott in advance of mentoring children.
- For mentor who ONLY wants to join in 2024 spring program:
Mentors will attend 3 mandatory training sessions.You will also be required to come to every class and help rehearse the children to prepare for their final performance. Please see attending dates https://www.actorstheatreworkshop.org/bnw-dates/
BNW Class sessions
- Every Tuesday 3:30-8:30PM, from April 9 - June 11
2 BNW rehearsals
- June 1, 11:30-5:30PM
- June 8, 11:30-5:30PM
BNW Final Performance
- June 13, 3:30-9:00 PM
- For mentor who wants to join BOTH
Need to attend 2 mandatory training sessions in November, and be committed to all the class dates for 2023 holiday and 2024 Spring Program listed above.
