Bridges Community Center Volunteer

Basic function: Under the supervision of Bridges Program staff and Director, welcome visitors and callers to Bridges' offices with a friendly attitude. Assist with other tasks as requested.

Basic Responsibilities: Greet visitors, answer phones and take messages, facilitate scheduled activities, schedule appointments, inform Bridges' staff when participants arrive for scheduled or unscheduled appointments, pull files for staff appointments, check obituary list and pull files, purge files of old information, keep office space tidy, refer complex problems or concerns to Bridge's staff, maintain confidentiality and follow code of ethics, and complete required documentation.

Qualifications: Enjoy working with older adults and the general population. Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Have good listening skills and maintain confidentiality. Ability to pass a background check. Ability to commit a minimum of two hours a month to the position.
