Opportunity Description
We are seeking a skilled volunteer to assist NAAAP New York as a grant writer. The grant writer will research, compose, and submit grants in order to support NAAAP New York’s funding goals, which is crucial to carrying out the organization’s mission. This is a great opportunity for those who want to learn more about and get started with grant writing or further develop their skills and experience in grant writing. Please note that this is an unpaid position; however, NAAAP NY is able to offer career development benefits as part of this opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Research public and private funding opportunities.
- Draft grant proposals and prepare supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the funding opportunity.
- Maintain positive relationships with grant providers and external stakeholders.
- Manage and organize related materials of the grant opportunities.
- Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to liaise and build relationships with external stakeholders.
- Experience with the grant writing process and/or past success with obtaining grants to support an organization’s funding goals is nice to have but not required.
