We would love to talk to you about an exciting volunteer opportunity! The South Carolina Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) is looking to fill our Advocacy Chair position.

In this role, you will focus on developing relationships with members of Congress and their staff to secure support for PanCAN's legislative priorities. You will also recruit and lead an Advocacy Committee to implement campaigns at the local level. The ideal volunteer for this role is a strong communicator! Training will be provided.

PanCAN volunteers raise funds and awareness year-round to support research and clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy, and community engagement work. Our volunteers support us in a number of capacities, including social media, public awareness campaigns, fundraising, event planning, and government advocacy.

We need you because pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers; the five-year survival rate is only 13%. It is currently the third leading cause of all cancer-related death in the US. We need people like you to help us create a world where all patients with pancreatic cancer will thrive.
