Our fellows will mainly be in charge of running Voter Education Week's at their high schools. High School Voter Education Weeks aims to increase youth voter participation and foster civic engagement among young people across the nation while also educating students on how to register to vote. This week-long event will bring together schools, educators, students, and community leaders to empower high school students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become active and informed voters.

New Era of Democracy is dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders through political engagement and civic participation. As a youth-focused nonpartisan non-profit organization, we strive to ignite a passion for democracy and social responsibility among young individuals.
New Era is currently organizing its first ever New Era Fellowship, where high school ambassadors are in charge of running Voter Education Weeks at their schools. Fellows will be in charge of organizing events/activities on their campuses throughout the week that will cover various aspects of the electoral process, including voter registration, understanding ballot measures, researching candidates, etc. Fellows will coordinate with other students, teachers, and admin in order to carry out this week.
New Era is committed to bringing youth representation to students within school districts. In fact, within the ABC Unified School District, we were able to get the signatures of 500 students from 3 high schools to establish a student representative position on the school board. This student would be responsible for representing the interests of all students from the district. We are hoping to expand this operation and coordinate with students who do not currently have this position available on their school boards.
