Are you looking for a meaningful way to make a difference in someone’s life? Our hospice is seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Care Volunteers. As a volunteer, you’ll provide non-medical support to patients living with a terminal illness, as well as their caregivers and families.
No medical background is needed! Our volunteers do not assist with medical or personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, medication administration, or helping patients in and out of bed. Your role is focused on providing emotional and social support during a difficult time.
How you can help:
- Offer companionship and socialization to hospice patients.
- Provide caregiver relief by spending quality time with patients.
- Engage patients in meaningful activities such as reading, playing games, or writing letters.
- Assist with light household tasks like watering plants, walking pets, washing dishes, or taking out the trash.
- Offer a comforting and supportive presence to both patients and their loved ones.
Volunteers have the flexibility to create their own schedules. We typically ask for about 2 hours per visit, but you can tailor your availability to what works best for you.
If you’re a caring individual looking to bring comfort and connection to others, we would love to hear from you!
