Family members, friends, and clergy are the people often supporting a patient with their presence and companionship. Many patients don't have this support available to maintain an end of life vigil. Families and friends of dying loved ones often struggle to cope with the loss of a loved one and are overwhelmed and anxious.
We offer dedicated hospice volunteers, like YOU, for end of life vigil support programs so that no one has to experience this process alone.
Volunteers are available to provide support and physical presence to patients and their families in times of need.
As part of the vigil process, all or any of the following may be included;
- Sitting with the dying person and their family
- Being a calming presence
- Talking
- Listening
- Shared silence
- Healing touch
- Reading of inspirational text or scripture
- Requested rituals
- Inspirational music
- Lighting candles
Vigil volunteers will be an on-call. Volunteers have the option to accept or decline volunteer assignment.
Current volunteer locations- Burbank, Downey, Fontana, Los Angeles, Norwalk, Pasadena, and Riverside.

Description
Our founders have been in the healthcare field for over a decade across various types of care, including assisted living communities, nursing homes, hospitals and home health.
We began Comfort Life Hospice because we want to manage all aspects of our patients’ healthcare journey, and we believe that by providing hospice, we can manage our patients’ health and well being from beginning to end. This means we truly know each patient and his/her individual needs so that we can ensure the most tailored and focused care.
Certified by The Joint Commission, we prioritize our patient and their family’s needs to create a comfortable environment that values the gift of life and the transitioning stage to what comes next.
