Every year, MashUp Contemporary Dance Company commemorates National Women's Equality Day and the ongoing fight for women's rights and gender equality with a new performance work from an all-women creative team, accompanied by discussion and/or speaker on a current societal topic from an intersectional perspective. MashUp is looking for 2 volunteers to assist with front of house for its 2024 event, happening on August 19th in Culver City. Volunteers will help with minor set up, help check tickets, and monitor a merch and refreshments table. Both will get to fully participate/watch the performance experience once it starts at 7:30pm. If able to still until 10pm to assist with clean up, it would be much appreciated.

In a world where the sheer amount of issues at play can often overwhelm and sometimes paralyze action, how can we focus in, and practically cultivate habits and decision-making practices that allow us to be most impactful in our own environments?
On August 19th at the Box in Culver City, MashUp Contemporary Dance Company invites you to a one-of-a-kind, intimate performance experience merging live dance, projection, dialogue, and connection as we examine our ever-changing personal and collective landscapes, and what it means to both adapt to, and be a driver of change.

MashUp is rooted in the belief that all voices should have an opportunity to be heard in order to create a more vibrant, just, and empathetic region and world. Democratically led by a 4-women Creative Council rather than solo artistic director, MashUp's programs, which include the annual International Women's Day Dance Festival, provide LA audiences with opportunities to experience thought-provoking dance works from diverse women artists, unite people from many walks of life through women-led dance, facilitate dialogue on relevant societal issues, especially pertaining to gender, and provide paid work, resources, and training for 100+ women dance professionals each year.
