Position Overview: Empowherto is seeking a talented and dedicated WordPress Website Designer to join our team as a volunteer for a 6-month commitment. As the WordPress Website Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping and enhancing the online presence of Empowherto, a platform dedicated to empowering girls and young women. This is an exciting opportunity to use your creativity and technical skills on the WordPress platform to make a positive impact on the lives of girls aged 14 to 21.

Responsibilities:

1. WordPress Website Development: Collaborate with the Empowherto team to design and develop a visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive website using WordPress. Ensure the website aligns with the organization's branding and mission.

2. Content Management: Regularly update and maintain the WordPress website with new content, including event announcements, blog posts, success stories, and resource materials.

3. Theme Customization: Customize WordPress themes and templates to create a unique and cohesive website design that reflects Empowherto's vision and values.

4. Graphic Design: Maintain graphics, banners, and visuals for the WordPress website to enhance its aesthetics and user experience.

5. UX/UI Enhancement: Implement improvements to the website's user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) based on feedback and best practices.

6. SEO Optimization: Implement on-page SEO best practices within the WordPress website to improve its visibility and search engine rankings.

7. Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with the Empowherto team to understand their needs and objectives, ensuring the WordPress website meets organizational goals.

8. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify and resolve any WordPress website issues or technical glitches promptly, ensuring a smooth user experience.

9. Mobile Responsiveness: Optimize the WordPress website design for mobile devices to ensure accessibility and seamless navigation on various platforms.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in WordPress website design, development, and content management.
• Strong understanding of graphic design principles and experience using design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for WordPress graphics.
• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices and an ability to implement improvements for enhanced user experience within WordPress.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and on-page optimization techniques for WordPress websites.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
• Demonstrated passion for women's empowerment, gender equality, and youth development.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while meeting WordPress website project deadlines.

Time Commitment:

• This is a volunteer position with a 6-month commitment.
• Starting date: ASAP.
• Estimated time commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week, depending on WordPress website project demands.
