Are you ready to sprinkle a dash of joy into someone's day? Path Home's Sack Lunch Program needs your fantastic energy and culinary flair to make mealtime extraordinary for our families!
Spread the Joy: Your sack lunch will bring smiles and brighten someone's day. It's not just a meal; it's a mood booster! Feel free to add a positive note on the bag for extra fun!
Join our community: Join a team of like-minded individuals who believe in the power of a good meal and a warm heart to make a difference.
The deets:
Bring sack lunches for the many moms, dads, and kids who are staying at the Family Village shelter. Because meal providers purchase all the ingredients, this volunteer position is also a financial contribution. We rely on the generosity of our community to keep families well-fed and nourished!
Step #1
Contact us to get started! Email samantha.t@path-home.org or call/text us at 971.865.1351 to find our available dates! The 30 sack lunches are then delivered on your scheduled day.
Step #2
Assemble 30 lunches and include the classics:
15 Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
15 meat and cheese sandwiches (spread mayo and mustard or include condiment packets). Lettuce and tomato are optional.
Include 2-3 additional lunch snacks, such as: fruit or a fruit cup, chips or crackers, and/or a cookie or granola bar. Homemade treats are also welcome!
Label the bags with the date and what they are (Ex: PBJ or Turkey/Cheese). You are welcome to add artwork to the bags as well.
Step #3
Deliver to Path Home, 6220 SE 92nd Avenue on your scheduled day. Entrance is on the south side of the main building. You may double park at the doors for a brief drop off. Shelter staff are ready with a cart to accept your food and bring it to the kitchen for service. If you are running late, please call the Family Village to notify staff (971-409-1766).

Mission Statement
Path Home empowers homeless families with children to get back into housing and to stay there.
Description
Path Home is a non-profit that operates our 24-hour Family Village shelter for families with children. Path Home began at First United Methodist Church in 1994, as one of the few family shelters in the Portland metro area that allows homeless families to stay together while living in a temporary shelter.
Families staying at the shelter are provided a light breakfast, lunch, and an evening meal. They have access to a caseworker, internet, showers, laundry facilities, bedrooms, and constructive activities for kids. Thanks to many donations received throughout the year, we maintain a supply room of personal toiletry items for shelter families.
People from many faiths and traditions, community organizations, businesses and from the secular community, serve as volunteers. Path Home relies on the services of numerous volunteers each day all year round. Volunteers prepare and serve the evening meal, set out lunch, provide activities for children, facilitate homework help and preschool activities, and serve as overall helping hands.
