ORGANIZATION: Segerstrom Center for the Arts

We are seeking volunteers, ages 14+, to assist in our Studio D: Arts School for All Abilities classes. Volunteers work alongside our faculty and students providing hands-on support and care in our Dance & Music, Ballet, Musical Theater, and Theater onsite classes at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The majority of our students have a disability, cognitive and/or physical, and we group our classes by age range - ages 4-7, 8-12, 13-17, and 18+. Volunteers can apply on our website and from there will be invited for a Zoom interview and if selected will be required to attend a 2-hour orientation at the Center. Volunteers choose which class they'd like to support and are asked to attend consistently from week to week. Our sessions are grouped by season and we are currently seeking volunteers for our 15-week spring classes that will meet from February 3 to May 24, 2025. Aside from consistent availability, we seek volunteers who are curious, open to providing hands-on support, and ready to have fun with our students. This opportunity is perfect for individuals looking for community service hours in performing arts and/or experience working with neurodivergent populations. A performing arts background is not necessary but it is welcomed. Lastly, in every class we have a licensed occupational or physical therapist present so this is a great opportunity for OT/PT folks seeking experience or volunteer hours in the field.
