Our dedicated volunteers offer valuable support to patients and families facing terminal illnesses. Hospice volunteers do not require any medical background and do not engage in medical or personal hygiene tasks. Volunteers provide support in various ways, such as companionship, tuck-in calls, and caregiver relief.
Whatever your passion or interest, there is a meaningful role for you as a volunteer with Amedisys Hospice. Our volunteers create their own schedule and typically commit 2 hours per week.
Currently looking for volunteers for:
- Patient companionship visits
- Caregiver respite
- Veterans for visits and ceremonies
- Crafters - blankets, quilts, pillows, pocket hearts
- PenPals
- Massage therapists
- Pet therapy
- Hair stylists/barbers

Our volunteer can make a difference in many ways to improve the life of patients who are facing a life-limiting illness. From direct contact with patients to providing clerical support, the volunteer is an important part of our hospice care team. At Amedisys, we offer comprehensive training and creative ideas. people helping people. that is what giving to hospice care is all about. As a Hospice volunteer and as an important part of our Hospice Care Team, you can help improve the quality of life of our Patients, as well as their family and caregivers.
