Program Manager (Nonprofit)
Job Summary: The Program Manager plays a vital role in planning, executing, and overseeing programs within a nonprofit organization. This individual is responsible for coordinating programs, managing resources, and ensuring that programs are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with the organization's mission in each chapter city. The Program Manager collaborates with internal teams, external stakeholders, and volunteers to achieve program goals and drive social impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Planning and Execution:
- Develop program plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Define program goals, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Coordinate program activities, resources, and tasks to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor program progress, track milestones, and implement necessary adjustments.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and instructors to define program requirements and expectations.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with chapter leads, ensuring their active involvement and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate regular communication, status updates, and reporting to keep stakeholders informed.
Team Management:
- Collaborate with the Chapter Lead to establish clear goals and brand awareness in your chapter city.
- Establish a project management and clear communication system process.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Develop project budgets, manage financial resources, and monitor expenditures.
- Identify and allocate necessary resources, including personnel, materials, and technology, to support project implementation.
- Optimize resource utilization, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness throughout the project.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement risk management plans.
- Proactively monitor and address project issues and challenges as they arise.
- Maintain project documentation, including risk registers, change logs, and lessons learned.
Impact Evaluation and Reporting:
- Establish evaluation frameworks and metrics to assess project outcomes and impact.
- Monitor and measure project results against predefined goals and objectives.
- Prepare and present project reports, progress updates, and impact assessments to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or career experience (e.g., Business Administration, Project Management, Nonprofit Management) is preferred.
- Proven experience as a project manager, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, organizing, and monitoring projects from initiation to completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage resources, and drive project success.
- Knowledge of program management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and an understanding of its unique challenges and dynamics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in program management software and tools.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the nonprofit organization

The Next IT Girl helps close the gender and racial gap by providing technical workshops, mentorship, and career readiness for young women of color ages 8-22 who are interested in pursuing a technology career. The Next IT Girl is a non profit organization mission to educate, mentor, and advance young women of color to pursue technology careers. We are bridging the gap of race and gender to increase the representation in the tech industry. We provide technical resources and programs to support technology exposure for underrepresented girls of color to learn technology.
