Help plan and lead practice sessions, develop participants' physical and psychological fitness, as well as maximizing their performance. Berkeley Youth Alternatives (BYA) uses two strategies to help young people and their families to address problems: Prevention--reach young people before their problems become crises, and Intervention--provide support services to those who are entangled in the juvenile justice system.
BYA-Has several different programs: Afterschool/Summer Jam Program k-6, Teen Center, Computer lab, Garden Patch, Crisis Counseling Program, Girls Twilite Basketball- Sports Program, RAVE(Rising Against Violent Element), Mentoring Program, Nutrition Education Program, and Career Development. These programs are provided to enrich the lives of the participants.
