If you love sports and working with kids, this is the right opportunity for you! Assist with basketball, soccer, and other sports skills and development for youth. Help plan and lead practice sessions, develop participants' physical and psychological fitness, as well as maximizing their performance. Help youth learn important life lessons while having fun playing sports!
BYA will be hosting Teen Nights for high school youth every Monday and Wednesday starting November 4th from 5-8pm. Part of Teen Night will include open gym for the youth. If you are interested in volunteering and helping out in this fun environment please don't hesitate to reach out! We will be also be hosting an end of the year 3 v 3 basketball tournament for interested youth. If you want to join in on all the fun and excitement, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Mission Statement
Berkeley Youth Alternatives (BYA) uses two strategies to help young people and their families to address problems: Prevention--reach young people before their problems become crises, and Intervention--provide support services to those who are entangled in the juvenile justice system.
Description
BYA-Has several different programs: Afterschool/Summer Jam Program k-6, Teen Center, Computer lab, Garden Patch, Crisis Counseling Program, Girls Twilite Basketball- Sports Program, RAVE(Rising Against Violent Element), Mentoring Program, Nutrition Education Program, and Career Development. These programs are provided to enrich the lives of the participants.
