We are currently seeking dedicated and reliable volunteers to participate in our mission of providing sustenance, hydration, and health monitoring for the endearing Pinewood community cats. If you have a genuine passion for our feline friends, we warmly invite you to join our efforts.

A kind resident here had offered to giving $25 monthly gift card to anyone that will join our group. We are looking for people that are willing to volunteer 6 months or more at a minimum.

Key Details:

Location: Milpitas, situated near Montague Expy and S Main St.

Time Commitment: One day per week (we currently have openings for Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays). It takes approximately 2.5 hours to finish feeding about 70+ cats at 9 spots all within the same community, depending on how much you care to mingle with the cats.

Note: Should any volunteers wish to extend their commitment and contribute to our mission by feeding for more than one day a week, we wholeheartedly encourage such dedication and are open to accommodating your generous offer as our current main individual is really exhausted covering many days out of the week feeding these many cats.

Duties and Responsibilities: Your position will entail several crucial tasks, including the distribution of nourishment and hydration, as well as the vital responsibility of monitoring the general health of our feline companions. Additionally, you'll be keeping an eye out for any potential new members who may join our community at various feeding stations along the designated route. Moreover, you'll have the delightful privilege of showering affection upon our cherished kitties (offering ear scratches, a perennial favorite), and meticulously documenting your feeding activities in a comprehensive report.

Note: Your commitment may also extend to providing support to other volunteers when possible, including covering for individuals on sick leave or during vacation periods.

Transportation: Access to a car is a prerequisite.

Weather Conditions: Our feeding activities are conducted without regard to weather conditions, whether rain or shine. Volunteers should be prepared for any environmental circumstances.

Feeding Schedule: The feeding sessions take place in the evening, generally between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm, with flexibility. In winter months, start time will be easiest at 4:30/5 pm, but once Spring comes, later start times of 6:00 pm and later are possible.

Supplies: We greatly appreciate volunteers who can supply their own cat food (both dry and wet) for the kitties.

Reporting: We kindly request that volunteers submit a brief email summary report within 24-48 hours following each feeding session.

Communication Availability Requirement: It is imperative that you are readily available and accessible via phone, text, or email to facilitate effective communication with other team members. Timely and responsive communication is a critical component of our operations, and we rely on team members who prioritize and uphold this standard. Your commitment to robust communication greatly contributes to our team's success.

Extra Perk: As you become a familiar presence to the cats, they will enthusiastically gather and engage in playful interactions, chasing after you with tails held high!

Please bear in mind:

Minimum Commitment: We kindly ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months to ensure the consistency of our mission.

Age Requirement: All applicants must be at least 18 years of age to participate.

Note: This particular opportunity is not suitable for individuals under 18 years of age and for those who are looking to earn community service hours.

By joining our dedicated community of volunteers, you can contribute positively to the well-being of these cherished cats. If you're keen to get involved, please reach out to us and specify the day of the week that aligns with your availability. Together, we can create an environment that is simply purr-fect for our feline companions. Meow!
