Are you a bubbly person who loves to meet new people, laugh, be silly and have fun? Do you just love to throw a party, call bingo, line dance or craft? Maybe you're more an introverted quiet type who would love to lead a book club, bible study or knitting group? Perhaps your talent relates to music or instruments and you would be available once a month for an hour to play music and bring happiness to others? Would you be willing to participate in a bereavement support group or prayer meeting monthly? If you're a Veteran would you enjoy visiting once a month with other Veterans at a Valor Cafe for lunch, conversation and support? Want to "clown around"? We can get you connected with your inner laughter. Do you paint? Would you be willing to lead senior adults in a monthly artistic expression? Do you have a sweet pup who just loves to be petted? Want to learn about becoming a pet therapy team?
No matter how you express your special sense of joy & connection, we would love to tell you more about the need for volunteers to engage local nursing home and assisted living community residents. Join us at Good Shepherd Hospice as a volunteer and allow us to connect you to people who would love to meet you and enjoy a little time with a new friend.

Location:

Mission Statement
Chapters Health System mission is simple: Delivering extraordinary care to every person we touch in every community we serve. Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the seven Central Florida counties we serve: Hardee, Highlands, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk and Sumter, and now in Cobb County, Georgia. If you live in a neighboring county, you can still volunteer. However, all of your volunteer activities will take place in one of our seven counties, typically the one closest to you. PLEASE NOTE: Even if you are interested in several different volunteer roles within our organization, you only need to click on one opportunity during this process. You will have a chance to discuss ALL of your areas of interest during your volunteer training. Thanks!
Description
Chapters Health System volunteers are a vital part of our entire organization, and play an active role in helping to provide the many special comfort and support services that distinguish Chapters Health System.
Our volunteers are special, but not out of the ordinary. They are regular people just like you. They use common sense and understanding. They do not need a medical background. They listen. They care. Volunteers help make a patient's life more fulfilling and satisfying by giving their time, understanding, and support and asking nothing in return. They also provide support to caregivers who are often with the patient 24/7 and may need a much needed break. If direct care is not for you, you can assist with administrative tasks at our office locations, and help out with events and community outreach. Any Chapters Health System volunteer will tell you that they feel they receive more from their experience than they give.
PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers are required to go through a training class with additional training required for some positions. For this reason, becoming a Chapters Health System volunteer is typically not appropriate for court related community service hours or other short-term requests. Ideally, our volunteers commit to at least one year with us providing a minimum of 6 hours of service per month
