You can be instrumental in educating Maui's students about the rich history of the sugar industry and plantation life on our island. Tour Guides (docents) lead groups of elementary school students on short, informative tours of the Sugar Museum. This beloved program, which began in 1990, fulfills DOE requirements and provides an important cultural learning opportunity for young people.
Current schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30-11:30 a.m., September through May. You will join a pool of volunteers that are called upon monthly. This is an on-call and seasonal opportunity--You choose the Tuesday or Thursday you would like to volunteer! We provide a script for you to follow, and training.
Benefits of volunteering at the Sugar Museum include: Discount in Plantation Store, appreciation events.
