Weekly Compassion phone calls to hospice patients & their caregivers to check on their medical supplies needs and conducting admission survey questions. Good listening, communication and writing skills necessary. Phone calls can be made in your home or Gentiva Hospice office branch (Zona Rosa). Ability to maintain HIPPA is a must for confidentiality. (5-10 phone calls a week).
Onboarding Requirements
Most of the volunteer orientation is through a self-paced format.
Volunteer interviews can be conducted virtually or in person. You will be able to meet your volunteer coordinator during your onboarding process.
Onboarding Requirements:
-Virtual volunteer training (approximately 12 hours of self-guided volunteer training)
-TB skin test or blood draw (scheduled and paid for by Gentiva Hospice)
-Background check (paid for by Gentiva Hospice)
-Drivers License
-Auto Insurance
-Additional paperwork (i.e. volunteer agreement)
-Interview with a volunteer coordinator
-Job-specific training as needed
