Community Volunteer Advocates are the cornerstone of UPLIFT's Home Team program. The goal of UPLIFT is to leverage community action through volunteerism and provide those experiencing homelessness individualized support in the form of housing search assistance.
Community Volunteer Advocates volunteer weekly to provide clients and their case managers support in the housing search and application process. Volunteer time may be spent virtually to find housing or resources from home and over the phone to pass along leads. UPLIFT provides weekly case conferencing meetings where fellow volunteers connect to share resources and ideas on next steps as well as provide individualize support with UPLIFT staff.
