In partnership with the We Honor Veterans program, we are dedicated to providing specialized care and support to our veteran patients. As a Caris Healthcare Hospice Veteran 2 Veteran Volunteer, you will play a vital role in honoring their service and ensuring they receive the utmost respect and gratitude they deserve.
In this role, you will have the honor of providing companionship to patients in their homes, assisted living facilities, or skilled nursing facilities while ensuring the utmost adherence to current health and safety guidelines.
* Listen to Their Stories: Engage with patients, lending a compassionate ear to listen to their cherished stories and memories. By showing genuine interest, you will provide comfort and validation to their experiences.
* Present Certificates of Appreciation: Pay tribute to their service by presenting military certificates of appreciation, acknowledging their dedication and sacrifice. This heartfelt gesture will bring immense pride and gratitude.
* Honor Through Supportive Presence: Be a pillar of strength and support by honoring a patient's military service through your unwavering presence. Your understanding and shared camaraderie will offer solace during their challenging journey.

The focus of hospice care is on the patient and the family - the unit of care. One way that Caris achieves this is through what is known as The Better Way program. The Better Way program provides Caris employees and volunteers with a format for achieving excellence through customer service. The program incorporates customer care initiatives into the daily activities of all employees, from clinical staff and volunteers to administrators.
