Organization Description:

Defense of Democracy is a nonpartisan group advocating for an inclusive public education system.

Mission Statement:

We advocate for legislators, educators, and administrators who will work to maintain communities as well as a public education system that supports and enhances our shared experiences regardless of religious beliefs, cultural background, or sexual orientation across the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the communications committee to develop and implement communication plans aligned with the organization's objectives.
• Contribute creative ideas and insights to enhance marketing campaigns and initiatives.
• Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, newsletters, and social media content.
• Support social media management by creating and scheduling posts on various platforms.
• Conduct research to identify target audiences, trends, and opportunities for expanding our reach.
• Assist in monitoring and analyzing marketing efforts to evaluate their effectiveness.
• Attend committee meetings, actively participate in discussions, and contribute to decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with other committee members and departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
• Stay informed about marketing trends and best practices in the non-profit sector.
• Additional duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of marketing, communication, advertising or related experience.
• A passion for the mission and values of our non-profit organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with digital marketing platforms and social media channels.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a virtual team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to contribute time outside of regular meetings when required.
• Previous experience with non-profit organizations is a plus, but not required.
• Experience in Digital Fundraising and donor solicitation initiatives is a plus.
