Tuesday Feeding Team - Make a Sheltered Rabbit's Day!
ORGANIZATION: Rocky Mountain House Rabbit Rescue
Please visit the new page to apply.
Are you interested in making a substantial positive impact on the lives of abandoned house rabbits? Do you enjoy working as part of a team to help care for animals? If so, a spot on our Bunny Feeding Team may be just the right fit for you!
Feeders volunteer every week on a specific day (e.g., every Tuesday, or every Friday), for about 2-3 hours. They provide fresh hay, pelleted food, papaya tablets, and other goodies for our sheltered rescued rabbits. They also make sure the rabbits' food and water dishes are fresh and clean. In exchange, they get a lot of friendly nose-bumps, and the satisfaction of providing a kind service for the bunnies as they wait to find their forever homes.
No experience is necessary, but you must be willing to commit to coming every week, as we are a 100% volunteer-run organization. (Of course, occasional absences must happen, and we will work with you to find subs as needed.)
Full orientation and training provided.

Mission Statement
Rocky Mountain House Rabbit Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), rescue and educational organization. We rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving forever homes for abandoned house rabbits. We also support local rabbit parents by providing education on these often misunderstood animals and their proper care, and offering expert support for any physical or behavioral challenges that may come up. And, we are the home of the Binky Boutique, a one-hop shop for rabbit care supplies, including our unique handmade bunny treats and toys.
Description
Rocky Mountain House Rabbit Rescue (formerly Colorado House Rabbit Society) is a 100% volunteer-driven organization, made up of a diverse group of over 300 bunny lovers.
Our shelter is home to around 80 rabbits at any given time, each of which has been rescued from dire circumstances. Once they arrive at our shelter, every bunny is given a thorough medical examination, and provided with whatever expert care is required to help them recover from physical and emotional wounds. Once they are neutered or spayed, restored to health, and litterbox trained, we begin the search for the perfect loving forever home for each bunny (due to their strong need for social connection, bunnies are only adopted out as pairs, or as singles to be paired with a bunny already in the home).
We believe that every-bunny deserves a second chance, and are therefore a no-kill shelter. Each bunny receives compassionate and loving care for as long as it takes for their new human to find them. Our concern for the bunnies also extends beyond the adoption - we provide education on proper rabbit care for all adopters, 24/7 expert advice on bunny health and behavior for rabbit parents, and educational programs for local community groups.
We are a diverse community with one thing in common - we are all committed to helping rabbits and the people who love them. We welcome anyone who is interested in joining our community in this important work!
