What COVID taught us is that patients and families LOVE a connection with those who care. YOU can be a pen pal volunteer by simply writing to a patient on a consistent basis to bring joy into their day. Families have found these 'love & care' letters in the patient's rooms at nursing homes and have been touched by the sentiment and care from someone they have never met. Others have written back whether it be a home patient or a loved one assisting a patient in a nursing facility.
Love cannot be contained nor can it die. WE would LOVE to have you on our Pen Pal team.

Mission Statement
The Compassus brand promise, Care for who I am, reflects its unique care delivery model, which focuses on each person as an individual as well as a patient, to improve their quality of life in a meaningful way. Compassus recognizes those for who they are as an individual and not being defined by their illness.
Description
Compassus Hospice is looking for volunteers to support our patients and staff in a variety of ways. Office volunteers assemble packets make copies, do computer work and make phone calls. Patient care volunteers make visits to patients providing companionship and comfort as well as offer much deserved respite to caregivers. Bereavement volunteers befriend those left behind through friendly phone calls and guided visits from our Bereavement Coordinator. Specialty volunteers offer a gamut of services including pet therapy, art therapy, Reiki therapy, massage therapy, Memory Bear - grief support item created from the patient's clothing -, and interns. Where ever your interest or talent lies, we can find a niche for you to invest in our hospice volunteer program!
