Help pull and remove invasive iceplant(Carpobrotus) and other invasive speciesto enhance coastal strand habitat on the Silver Strand State Beach bayside! Volunteers will use hand tools to complete this work. Iceplantcovered much of the bayside until the mid-2000’s when a removal effort began and to our delight, native plants flourished where the iceplant once dominated. Today, the effort continues to remove invasive weedsto make space for beach evening-primrose and other native dune plants to grow. Ages 12 and older are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult and bring a signed waiver by their guardian). Lunch will be provided.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: We will host monthly volunteer workdays at this park site! Please visit our webpage to complete registration, please visit -
