At the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake our volunteers for dinner will be working alongside our kitchen staff to plate up and serve anywhere for 100-200 men and woman facing food insecurities. Some people who come to get a meal may be working and can't afford to feed themselves and others may be completely destitute, living on our streets. We ask that all volunteers come in teams of two to until you are comfortable volunteering in our facility alone. We allow children to volunteer, but they must be at least 10 years-old and be ready to see the realities of the individuals we serve here at the Rescue Mission.
We couldn't do it without you!

Mission Statement
Our mission is to ending homelessness and restore lives in the name of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to be the most effective life-changing ministry in Utah that serves the homeless, indigent, and poor by providing services that meet spiritual, physical, emotional, educational, social, and mental wholeness needs through the love and power of Jesus Christ.
Description
Since the 1970's, the Rescue Mission has developed services to meet the immediate needs of our homeless friends (food, shelter, clothing, and more) as well as comprehensive, life-changing programs to provide a pathway off the streets through addiction recovery, Christian education, employment, housing, and restoration of relationships. This includes the addition of our Women’s Center in 1984 where women and children have a safe place to find shelter, clothing, counselling, and addiction recovery services.
Today the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake provides over 700 daily meals to the homeless and low-income communities in Ogden and Salt Lake. Each night we provide safe, comfortable shelter for 300 men, women, and children who have nowhere else to go. Our goal remains the same as it was back in 1972: To love God with all of our soul, to love our neighbors, and to help our homeless friends find faith and serve God with all of their being. To end homelessness and restore lives.
