Volunteers, Retired, Veterans, College Students and Homemakers
Friendly Visiting - works with seniors 60 and older who are lonely, depressed and isolated who could benefit from a weekly social in-home visit along with weekly phone calls are matched with a screened volunteer 18 and older based on similar common interests.
No set schedules- you and your match decide what days and times for each visit.except the ones you and your senior make.
To become a Friendly Visitor:
- 18 years and older
- Are you Friendly, Dependable and Compassionate
- Can you initiate a visit once a week
- Able to complete our screening and training process
There are many ways you can provide a positive interaction that would benefit a senior.
Each visit you make does change a senior's life for the better. I see first hand the difference.
- take a walk
- listen to music
- see a local car show
- visit a flea market/garage sale
- share a cup of coffee
- go out to lunch
- visit a local animal park
- sit by a river
- come to an event at our local Senior Services Associates locations
- play bingo ( Aurora & Yorkville )
- line dancing (Aurora Location)
- excercise at (Aurora Location)
