The Father McKenna Center's mission is to to accompany and care for families struggling with poverty and men facing homelessness by providing food, shelter, clothing, and services to support their journey toward stability, productivity, meaning, and hope, building upon the good works, ideals, and values of Father Horace McKenna, SJ.
Our Greg Gannon Food Pantry offers food assistance to D.C. households with low incomes. Patrons are able to select groceries from a variety of shelf-stable, fresh, and frozen items.
We are in need of folks to work with our Food Pantry patrons in selecting grocery items. We also need assistance in the set up and break down of our Food Pantry. You can sign up for this position and others by visiting our website at https://fathermckennacenter.org/how-you-can-help/volunteer/.

Description
The Father McKenna Center is an independent 501(c)3 in the Ignatian Catholic tradition located in Washington, D.C. We serve men struggling with homelessness and families facing food insecurity. We provide a structured programming that supports our mission of Meeting Needs ... Reclaiming Lives.
We have three different programs for men experiencing homelessness: the Day Program, McKenna Academy, and Hypothermia/Transition Shelter. For D.C. residents facing food insecurity, we operate a four-day-a-week, client choice Food Pantry that provides a variety of fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable food items.
