Reading Buddies are a key part of our programs and provide the essential reading comprehension assistance to a student once a week. As a Reading Buddy, you will help a child develop their comprehension skills through reading high-quality literature to them. Above all, you will be a positive role model who encourages them and makes reading fun!
When: June 17th - July 24th, Monday-Wednesday (you can select the day of the week that works best for your schedule)
- Time: Two session opportunities to choose from: Morning 9:45-11:35am or Afternoon 1:45-3:35pm

The mission of Readers 2 Leaders is to equip students for success through the power of reading.
Description
Readers 2 Leaders (R2L) is a local non-profit organization serving the West Dallas area with the mission to equip students for success through the power of reading. R2L is currently serving almost 800 students in our reading intervention programs for students that need additional reading support to reach grade level. We provide In-School, After-School, and Summer Programs.
Reading Buddies (volunteers) are a key part of our programs and provide the essential one-on-one reading assistance to a student once a week. As a Reading Buddy you will help a child develop their comprehension reading skills through an engaging and interactive read aloud. Above all, you will be a positive role model that encourages them and makes reading fun!

- We ask all Summer Reading Buddies volunteers to commit to attending the same session every week for the 6 weeks of Summer Camp (June 20th - July 26th)
- Minimum age of volunteers is having completed at least a year of high school. Need to attend a training session the week before summer camp.
