About We Care Corvallis-Benton County

Location:

125 NW 10TH ST, CORVALLIS, OR 97330, US

Mission Statement

We Care bridges the gap between emergency and sustainability, by providing one-time emergency financial assistance to residents of Benton County, Oregon.

Description

Each week We Care helps Benton County residents facing financial emergencies. In 2022, We Care helped 367 households, providing over $150,000 of assistance when assistance from other sources was unavailable or inadequate. Rental assistance to prevent evictions and homelessness, and utility assistance to prevent the shut-off of water or electricity are the most common types of assistance provided. The households served by We Care are most often the working poor, about half are families with children. Some also face the challenges of physical or mental health disabilities, and a few are escaping situations of domestic violence or homelessness.

The one-time financial assistance provided by We Care helps our neighbors in need move through an immediate crisis towards a more stable and sustainable future. Beyond the financial assistance, We Care helps foster a spirit of understanding, inclusion, and compassion that touches both those served and those who serve. We Care’s efforts are strengthened through the support of 18 faith communities.
