VOLUNTEER: Regional Youth Advisory Council (RYAC) Conference

About KYAC:
Kansas Youth Advisory Councils (KYAC) serve within each region of the state. These councils are made up of youth ages 14-20 years who are currently in foster care or have transitioned from foster care. RYAC meetings are hosted monthly in every region. These events provide youth the opportunity to learn various life skills, promote self-sufficiency, prepare for successful transition into adulthood, and provide feedback on their experiences in the child welfare system.

About the position:
You will be spending the day with teens that are ready to age out of the foster care system or are already out of the system ages 14 through 20 years old. of different ages. We will need volunteers helping in the sessions, will require some hands-on work sessions listed below.
- KYAC Summer Conference Classroom Monitors, one volunteer will be assigned to help monitor youth behaviors during conference workshops. Volunteer will be partnered with another agency staff member.
Workshops - Car Maintenance, Time Management, First Aid +Health, Graphic Design, Taxes, Human trafficking Awareness, Sewing, Healthy Boundaries, DJ!
Requirements must:
- be 21 years old.
- be background checked.
- enjoy having fun with kids.
- be patient and kind.
