Mission Statement
Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Description
Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake is one of 1,400 Habitat for Humanity affiliates around the world operating and fundraising independently to meet the unique needs of the communities we serve. Since our founding in 1982, Habitat Chesapeake has built/renovated more than 780 homes in 19 communities across Baltimore City and Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Howard counties. We maintain a mix of new and rehab construction to balance costs and strive to create decent, energy efficient, 2-3 bedroom homes that families will be proud to own. These homes have offered safety and stability to more than 2,500 family members, while bringing much-needed investment to underserved communities.
In addition to building homes, Habitat Chesapeake proudly owns and operates 6 ReStores which sell new and gently-used furniture, home goods, building materials, appliances and more at discounted prices. ReStores serve as an important resource for low-income families, as well as a critical source of funding to support our mission in helping to create safe, decent, and affordable housing.
