Our mission is to honor life and offer compassion to individuals and there families , when facing a life-limiting illness. We are in need of Military Service members and veteran volunteers to provide support, honor, and companionship to the Veterans in which we service. With hospice individuals have the chance profoundly improve the quality of our patient’s lives while gaining hands on experience in patient care. We are a proud partner with We Honor Veterans to ensure that our patients receive this highest care and recognition for their service.

Qualifications

Must be a military veteran to participate in the Veteran-to-Veteran program. Volunteers must possess the ability to actively listen and communicate compassionately with patients, families and caregivers. They must be able to work well as a part of our interdisciplinary team. Volunteers must possess emotional maturity and sensitivity while also respecting the beliefs of the patients and their families. Volunteers must be dependable and have reliable transportation to ensure they are able to complete scheduled visits. Volunteers should also have an understanding of the hospice philosophy, goals and be willing to participate in continuing education requirements.

Please Note:

No experience is necessary as training is provided to all volunteers prior to the start of their service. We service patients throughout the Metro Atlanta Area and volunteers are assigned to patients in an area that is most convenient to them. Visits are completed on a weekly basis and volunteers have the flexibility to choose the day and times that work best for their schedule.
