Friendly and Compassionate Visits with Hospice Patients

Hospice volunteers give their time and talents to help the patients and families served by Constellation Health Services. Volunteers perform many important duties. Whether providing companionship in a patient’s home or facility, volunteers play a vital role that enables the hospice to more fully meet the community’s needs. Volunteers provide companionship to both the patient and family caregiver. They are a caring, friendly face for conversation, reading, playing games, watching TV, listening to music, and sharing stories. Volunteer visits may also offer respite to the family caregiver, who can take a break from caregiving while the volunteer is visiting. Constellation patient visit volunteers need not have any special abilities, all we ask is for reliability and compassion. However, we are open to trained Reiki Masters, pet therapists, musicians, etc.

Masks, hand sanitizer, and other PPD provided.

Description

Constellation Hospice is a special concept of care, focused on providing comfort, relieving pain and offering support to those with life-limiting health conditions and their families. Constellation Hospice addresses the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the individual, while attending to the equally important needs of their family and caregivers. Our team of hospice professionals and volunteers work collaboratively with the patient, their family and primary care physician to create a customized care plan. We believe every person deserves to live out his or her life with respect, dignity and comfort in an environment that promotes quality of life. We educate on and practice all infection control measures, including COVID 19 and subsequent variants, as well as provide necessary PPE. We would love for you to join our team!
