Our Pathways program runs every Tuesday and Thursday morning and seeks to provide practical, compassionate care to individuals experiencing homelessness or hardship. Your role is to serve coffee, drinks and snacks to our guests outside, but ultimately to foster a hospitable environment by actively engaging in curious, and loving conversation. You’ll also make sure the coffee urns are filled, any snacks or light lunch is distributed, and pantry areas stay clean. Our goal is for every person to encounter an environment of respect, safety, and hospitality at Pathways.

Mission Statement

Community Ministries provides safety and support to those navigating or recovering from homelessness or hardship with practical, compassionate care, spiritual formation and encouragement through prayer, and radical community across societal boundaries. It is a space where we provide an intentional community where there often is none, actively love when it is hard, and live across classes and cultures as Christ has called us to.

Description

The two primary programs Community Ministries currently offers is a twice-a-week drop-in program and weekly Community Meal.

The Pathways Drop-in Program addresses the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of those experiencing homelessness and hardship. Services include a light breakfast and/or lunch, showers, clothing donations, mail service, and medical, psychiatric and social services through our on-site partner (Institute for Family Health). Our goal is for every person to encounter an environment of respect, safety, and hospitality when they enter.

Our Community Meal is an integral part of our church community. We provide a hot meal that intentionally brings together the homed and homeless in our community as we break bread together in a beautiful and hospitable atmosphere.
