Hospice volunteers make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and caregivers. In this role, direct patient volunteers work in the home or at a senior living facility with terminally ill patients and their families. Duties may include:
Patient companionship: Talking, playing games, reading, engaging in hobbies.
Caregiver Respite: Sit with a patient giving a caregiver the opportunity for self-care and complete needed activities. Other duties may include light household chores, shopping, transportation.
All volunteers are required to go through an application process and complete volunteer training. Volunteers are encouraged to commit to volunteer for 2 hour shifts weekly or bi-weekly. We will work with your schedule and provide ongoing support for a fulfilling experience!
