As a Greeter, You greet everyone visiting the site to create a pleasant atmosphere. You screen taxpayers to determine the type of assistance they need and confirm they have the necessary documents to complete their tax returns. Tax law certification is not required for this position.
The VITA and TCE programs offer free tax help to people with low-to-moderate income, senior citizens, persons with disability, those who have limited English proficiency and others who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. In the majority of the free tax help sites, taxpayers can get one-on-one help from IRS-certified volunteers who prepare their taxes for them. Volunteers are needed in all these sites during the tax filing season.

We are a group of IRS-certified volunteers who wish to give back to their community by helping low to middle income taxpayers take advantage of all the tax credits they are entitled to. We have a special focus on senior taxpayers who need assistance navigating their annual federal income tax reporting.
Description
We are a partner with the IRS participating in their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance / Tax Counseling for the Elderly (VITA/TCE) program.
VITA/TCE sites offer free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including:
Seniors (60 and over)
People who generally make $60,000 or less
Persons with disabilities; and
Limited English-speaking taxpayers
