Working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death from home fires in half. That’s why we’re rallying volunteers to Sound the Alarm in Charlotte, NC.

On April 14th and April 15th, American Red Cross volunteers, fire departments, and partners will install free smoke alarms in the Thomasaboro, Lakewood, and surrounding communities in Charlotte, NC.

Join us and experience a rewarding day connecting with the families you'll help. Volunteers are needed to install smoke alarms, share home fire safety information, and keep records of teams' activities.

All ages 13+ are welcome. This is an excellent way for teens to earn service hours.
  • Ages: 13-15: A parent or guardian must accompany teens under 16.
  • Ages: 16-17: A parent consent form is required.

To register, visit soundthealarm.org, scroll down, and select "Be a Volunteer."
