Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 4:00-5:30, Weekly
At Columbus Metropolitan Library's Northern Lights Branch, Between 30-40 eager children come every Tuesday and Thursday for Reading Buddies. We are always looking for friendly volunteers to practice reading and writing with these funny, creative, and smart kids! The Northern Lights branch sits in the middle of the Northland community, a rapidly-growing part of town, with a strong focus on academics and entrepreneurship. If you're not sure - stop in and shadow! We would love to show you around the library and introduce you to the community.

since 1873, Columbus Metropolitan Library is well known for its signature services and programs like School Help, Reading Buddies, Summer Reading Challenge and Ready for Kindergarten. With its Main Library and 22 branches, CML responds to areas of urgent community need: kids unprepared for kindergarten, third grade reading proficiency, high school graduation, college and career readiness and employment resources.

CML was named a 2011 National Medal Winner by the Institute for Museum and Library Services for work in community service, the highest honor for libraries and museums. CML was also named 2010 Library of the Year by Library Journal.
