Hackensack Meridian Hospice is now accepting volunteers taking a gap year before medical school or students who are looking for a healthcare learning experience. Volunteers, at least 18 years old, gain valuable healthcare experience by providing bedside companionship to patients suffering from a life-limiting illness.
Hackensack Meridian Hospice provides service to patients wherever they call home; therefore, reliable transportation is required. Visits are typically 1-2 hours once a week based on your availability. Students must be available during the academic year. References will be provided after completing one year and 50 hours of service. For more information, contact Hospice.Volunteer@HMHN.org.

Mission Statement
Hackensack Meridian Hospice offers compassionate holistic care to those experiencing a life limiting illness to ensure that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. The hospice philosophy treats the person and the symptoms of the disease, rather than treating the disease itself. Hospice care includes many things, but what it means to us is dignity, respect, comfort, quality of life and time together at life’s most precious moments.
