Care Initiatives Hospice is seeking companion volunteers with compassion. Volunteers will spend time listening and actively engaging patients of Hospice in conversation, playing games, puzzles, watching tv, going for walks, etc. This is a very rewarding activity as it shares time with individuals as they go through the end-of-life transition. A great way to learn from others and grow from your interactions with patients.

Description
Care Initiatives Hospice is a service of one of the largest health care networks in the state of Iowa. Care Initiatives Hospice is committed to providing a high quality of life to patients and their families as life's final months and processes unfold. We are a full service not-for profit community-based hospice. Volunteers are a vital part of our team and make a big difference in many lives. As a volunteer, you'll discover it is extremely rewarding to work with patients and their families or 'behind the scenes' to help make everything run smoothly. Volunteers may participate in caring by listening to memories, reading a story, playing games, visiting a patient at home, assisted living, or nursing facility. Volunteers may also prepare light meals, provide respite for family members, and many other things. We are seeking volunteers in Dubuque and Manchester areas.
