About DAILY DOSE OF READING

Mission Statement
Daily Dose of Reading improves literacy in children by empowering families through reading and language.
Description
Since its founding in 1999 by Dr. Shelly Senders, Daily Dose of Reading (DDR) has understood that all social progress begins with education, and education begins with early literacy. Higher literacy improves health, education, equality, the overall economy, and has recently been correlated with lower infant mortality and increased empathy.
Over the past two decades, the organization has been dedicated to improving childhood literacy through a range of programs. The culmination of that experience has resulted in Play and Learn (PaL), an evidence-based program for pre-K children that is aligned with the Ohio Dept. of Education’s Early Literacy Development Standards.
