Native plants, birds and other creatures need native habitat to thrive!

In 2020, a beautiful sand dune habitat was created at Encinal Beach with unique California native plants. Golden Gate Audubon Society, through its Friends of the Alameda Wildlife Reserve conservation committee, has partnered with East Bay Regional Parks to do habitat restoration at Encinal Beach / Boat Ramp. Please join us to remove non-native invasive species and ensure the welfare of plant species native to this little waterfront gem of a space! You will see many shore birds and perhaps a Harbor Seals off in the distance!

Removing the invasive weeds encourages growth of the native plant species and benefits local birds and other wildlife.
