We are looking for patient Volunteering in patients residence
Volunteering includes:
- Provide patient socialization
- Light Caregiver Respite
Opportunity Offers:
- Training / Orientation
- Volunteer Hours Credit for School or Work Applications
- A look into the hospice healthcare environment
- A meaningful experience
We are looking for individuals:
- That feel comfortable sitting/socializing with terminally ill patients
- Are looking to gain a meaningful experience
- Can work with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
- Bilingual (Not required)
- Observant of the patient’s pain and symptoms.
- Assists the patient with the emotional and psychosocial and spiritual aspects of dying.
- Provides needed drugs, medical supplies, and equipment.
- Offers conversation, storytelling, reminiscing, and arts and crafts activities.
- Provides bereavement care and counseling to surviving family and friends.
- Delivers special services like speech and physical therapy when needed.
- Makes short-term inpatient care available when pain or symptoms become too difficult to manage at home, or the caregiver needs respite time.
- Very light custodial care and meal prep.
- Provides companionship, support, and care.
