We are seeking a Treasurer! You will be responsible for the effective management and financial operation of the New London Area Food Pantry (NLAFP), an all-volunteer organization established in 1986. This is a board officer position providing a great opportunity to give back to the community and to make an impact.
Responsibilities:
- All banking activities including deposits, checks, savings, debit cards, as well as monthly reconciliation.
- Maintain all financial records
a. Monetary Donations
b. Issue Checks
c. Food Donations from our food partners
d. Monthly and Annual Financial Reports
e. Prepare Cash Flow Analysis
f. Prepare Annual Budget - Prepare and File annual State and Federal Reports
- Prepare Grant Spending Reports

Description
The food pantry is an all-volunteer organization, established in 1986, serving the residents of the greater New London / Southeastern CT area through offering the selection of groceries to those who cannot afford to meet their nutritional needs. The Pantry provides canned goods, cereal, pasta, beans, vegetables, fresh fruit, bread and meats when available to individuals and families requiring assistance. Presently the Pantry is open for food distribution on Monday from 12:30 -2:30PM and Thursday from 9:30-11:30AM based on available staffing.
The Pantry relies on volunteers to meet our goals. As a non-profit organization, the NLFPA Treasurer position on our Board is very important as we need to ensure that our expenses and donations are managed well.
