Ali Cat Rescue, Inc. is a very small, not-for-profit kitten and cat rescue located in Wellington. We have no paid employees. We do not have a brick and mortar building and rely on volunteer fosters to house and care for our kittens and cats. We predominately specialize in kittens from newborn age on up.
THIS IS A CLEANING JOB! THE STORE MANAGMENT AND THE CATS DEPEND ON VOLUNTEERS TO KEEP THE CAGES CLEAN.
ACR has one permeant cages in the Pet Supermarket store in western Lake Worth. We have a max. of 2 cats at a time in the cage. The cats rely on our dedicated volunteers to feed them, clean their letterboxes and cage and give them some love during their stay. Taking care of the cat's needs will take you approx. 1 to 1.5 hours but you are welcome to stay as long as you want.
This opportunity is great for teens, adults and seniors that live close to the pet store. Teens must be accompanied by an adult.
As a volunteer you will be responsible for keeping the cages and toys clean, changing bedding, scooping litter and/or cleaning litter boxes as needed, cleaning food and water bowls, feeding and playing with the cats. The cleaning involves some bending and light lifting.
The rescue needs kitty care both morning and evenings, 7 days a week including holidays.
Currently we have these shifts open:
Morning shifts: All days available, start time: 9:00 - 10:30am (time is somewhat flexible)
Evening shifts: some evenings available, start time 5:00 -7:30pm (time is somewhat flexible)
Fill in help for all shifts is also needed. Please submit form because we get cancellations frequently.
All volunteers must have reliable transportation and the ability to receive text messages.
Teens must be accompanied by an adult. All volunteers need to be responsible and show up to their committed day/shift. We require a 6 month committment. Cancellations will result in you loosing your position.
This position involves cleaning litter boxes and wiping down cages. Please do not apply if you do not want to clean.
PLEASE GIVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER WHEN CONTACTING US SO WE CAN REACH YOU.
Our cats rely on our volunteers to eat so reliability is a big factor in volunteering for us. If you don't show up to care for the cats, they don't eat!
Community service hours can be earned. All teens must be accompanied by an adult. Community service hours must be tracked by the individual needing them. We provide a folder to hold school community service forms for our teens.

Mission Statement
We dream of a world where all cats and kittens live in a safe and loving home, for their entire life - bringing joy and companionship to the family they love.
Description
Our rescue organization is dedicated to the welfare of all cats and kittens. We work with professionals, groups and other organizations who share our vision of a world where all cats and kittens have a loving and safe home in which they can thrive for their entire lives.
We provide rescue services, foster care and medical attention, while our adoptable cats and kittens are awaiting their furever home. Every one of our adoptable cats and kittens have been examined by a veterinarian, given all necessary shots, and are always spayed or neutered. Upon adoption, all records and paperwork for chipping is provided to their new loving family.
Our 100% volunteer operated organization is solely funded by donations. In kind services are generously provided by caring veterinarians, and they deeply discount those services that must be paid for. Other expenses include food and toys for fosters, equipment for hand-raising newborn orphaned kittens, treatments for fleas and worms, and other routine needed items like litter boxes.
