Mission Statement
Sheltered Journey, Inc., offers caregiver-centered support, resources, and retreats to parents and caregivers of minor and adult children living with emotional, behavioral, developmental, and intellectual challenges.
Description
Sheltered Journey started with a weekly podcast detailing the raw, unfiltered experiences of a mom navigating the bumpy journey of loving and advocating for a child living with mental health and developmental challenges. Feedback to the podcast was overwhelmingly supportive and uncovered the need for an organization solely focused on the unique needs and experiences of parents and caregivers of children living with emotional, behavioral, developmental, and intellectual challenges. The Sheltered Journey nonprofit organization offers outreach services; access to nationwide resources such as support groups, workshops, hotlines, and warmlines; restorative, caregiver-centered retreats; and, regular podcasts that share, acknowledge and honor the caregiver journey.
